Untraced: Cold Case Detective
Is Untraced: Cold Case Detective free? Not Really Free.
Pricing: Free players can explore only the opening few questions of a case before hitting a paywall; a Premium subscription at $5/week (or a $30 unlock) is required to access every case, while ad-watching only unlocks hints, not full cases. Optional paid features: Premium (weekly) ($5/week); Premium (full unlock) ($30).

A phone. An open case. A night that doesn't add up. Untraced puts a victim's phone in your hands. Someone stopped answering — and the truth is still on their phone. Read the messages they sent that night. Open the photos they hid. Crack the passcode protecting what they deleted. Every timestamp matters, and nobody is going to connect the clues for you. This is the true crime story you don't just listen to — you solve it. BECOME THE INVESTIGATOR Snoop through a fully explorable phone, exactly like a real one: texts, photo albums, email, notes, calendar, maps, voice memos, banking and social apps. The evidence is scattered where real evidence lives — a throwaway text, a calendar entry that doesn't add up, a voice memo recorded at 2 AM. SOLVE IT LIKE A DETECTIVE • Read between the lines of every conversation • Recover hidden and deleted photos the victim didn't want found • Crack passcodes by finding the hints yourself — no hand-holding • Cross-reference timestamps, locations, and stories that don't match • Answer the case questions and confront what really happened YOUR INVESTIGATION, YOUR PACE Nothing is on rails. What you open, what you dig into, and when — it all shapes how the picture comes together. No random guessing: every answer is discoverable from the evidence on the phone. If a door is locked, the key is somewhere in the story. Feel like a real detective, because here you actually are one. FOR TRUE CRIME FANS If you binge crime documentaries and true crime podcasts and always think "I'd have caught that" — this is your chance to go deeper. And if you love found-phone and interactive mystery games like Duskwood, SIMULACRA, or An Elmwood Trail, Untraced is your next case. PLAY ANYWHERE An investigation fits in your pocket. Five minutes in a queue or a 2 AM can't-put-it-down session — the case waits, the phone remembers. Start investigating for free. A Premium subscription unlocks every case, and free players can optionally watch a rewarded ad for a hint. --- Untraced is a work of interactive fiction. All characters, phones, messages, photos, and events are entirely invented. The game never accesses, reads, or displays anyone's real data — the phone you investigate is part of the story.
