Inkitt CandyJar: TV & Shorts
Is Inkitt CandyJar: TV & Shorts free? Free with a Catch.
Pricing: Free users get one episode per day plus coins from rewards, while paying either buys a coin pack ($1.99–$199.99) to unlock individual episodes at a coin cost that scales with episode length, or an Unlimited Streaming subscription (weekly, monthly, or annual, price set per region/device) for unlimited ad-free access to all episodes. Optional paid features: Coin refill (unlocks episodes) ($1.99–$199.99 per pack); Unlimited Streaming subscription (weekly/monthly/annual) (varies by region/device).
CandyJar offers real free viewing, but the free path is heavily time-gated: recent users report only about one free episode per day before waiting or spending coins. Paid subscriptions/credits materially accelerate access, so the app is usable for free but with a significant catch.
- Large catalog of short-form drama and fantasy shows
- New episodes are added regularly
- A free viewing path exists without mandatory upfront payment
- Free users may wait roughly 20 hours to unlock another episode
- Credits and subscriptions are used to bypass the wait
- Recent reviews report credit-value and playback/lag frustrations
