Notepad, Notebook, Notes app
Is Notepad, Notebook, Notes app free? Free with a Catch.
Pricing: Note-taking itself is free but ad-supported, with frequent, sometimes hard-to-close ads reported by users; a one-time premium purchase (one reviewer reports paying about $53) removes ads, though the exact current price and whether it's a permanent license or a recurring plan isn't consistently confirmed across reviews. Optional paid features: Premium/Ad-Free Version (~$53 (reported, one-time)).
A usable notes and to-do app is available for free, including lists, reminders, widgets, voice memos, search, and basic organization, but the free experience is heavily ad-supported. Recent reviews repeatedly describe long or unskippable ads interrupting basic note-taking, so the app is useful without paying but comes with a meaningful catch.
- Core notes, lists, reminders, widgets, search, and voice memos work without an upfront purchase
- Supports categories, colorful notes, home-screen widgets, and syncing
- Large user base with many positive reviews for basic note-taking
- Recent reviews repeatedly complain about frequent, intrusive, sometimes unskippable ads
- Some users report reliability or usability problems, including lost notes or launcher/home-screen interference
- Paid options appear to exist, but current Android pricing details are not fully grounded
