Twitch: Live Streaming
Is Twitch: Live Streaming free? Actually Free.
Pricing: Twitch’s core live viewing, chat and streaming are free; optional channel subscriptions support creators and unlock perks such as emotes/badges, while Bits are spent on Cheers and other enabled interactions, but Android purchase sizes vary widely within the observed $0.99–$1,598 range. Optional paid features: Channel subscriptions — support a streamer and unlock channel perks such as emotes and badges ($0.99 - $1,598.00 per item); Bits — virtual goods used for Cheers and eligible channel interactions ($0.99 - $1,598.00 per item).
Twitch is free to watch, chat, and stream on; subscriptions and Bits are optional ways to support creators rather than requirements, though reviewers report significant app stability issues recently.
- All live streaming, chat, and viewing is free with no account required to watch
- Broadcasting your own stream is also free
- Subs and Bits are optional support, not required to watch
- Widespread stability complaints: crashes, blank loads, and glitches on both mobile and TV
- Login and channel-access issues reported by multiple reviewers
- App defaults to a random live stream instead of the user's followed page
